General Hospital This Week: Top 3 Favs and Top 3 Fast-Forwards

by Jeannie Ruesch

Jeannie’s Top 3 Favs

I enjoyed a lot of this week’s GH and I love seeing the way stories are setup, turned on turning points and connected together.

3. Nathan and Maxi kissed!

I loved how it happened. It was a moment they couldn’t deny, but it wasn’t the “end” of the beginning at all.  Maxie is still uncertain about trusting herself and her intuition, so I see plenty of ups and down aheads for these two.  It’s been a LONG time since I’ve had couples on GH that I love and root for, and Maxie and Nathan are one.  Love them together!

2. Headless Jason made the scene

I’m really intrigued about NuJason and how he’ll fit into the canvas.  I can’t wait to see his chemistry with everyone.  And I appreciated that his return shows that he’ll be connected in some way to Helena Cassadine. Though I could have done without her resurrection, truthfully, I’m hoping her “plans” for Jason and Robin mean he’ll be more involved on the canvas than just working for Sonny.

1. SamTrick kissed!  This was my favorite moment.

I love them together! They sparkle!

3. Carly and Franco love scenes.

I loved Carly and Todd, and I loved the chemistry of the actors.  But I think pairing Carly up with Franco was one of the most out-of-character steps the writers could have ever taken.  I can’t wait until they implode.

2. Nina Doing her Best Flashdance rendition

While I appreciate that Nina needs her exercise, the whole scene just seemed overdone. I love Nina for a lot of reasons, but there are some times the scene that’s written just seems really pointless.

1.  Stavros – On my screen at any time.

I thought his role this week was completely over the top and ridiculous.  It was very FF for me.

Tracy? Yours?

Tracy’s Top 3 Favs

I love the relationship progress this week between several major characters. I also love your “headless Jason” comment – haha!  Jason may be headless and voiceless, but somewhere in the town surrounding the clinic, a store just ran out of black T-shirts. I digress. Here are my favorites:

3. Obrecht vs Victor

I love any scene with Kathleen Gati and Thaao Penghlais. The fact that Obrecht shot Victor and justified it to the unconscious man by stating he was about to kill her mere moments before was priceless. Then Victor awoke. What does mutter do now?

2. Nina and Franco

Yes, Nina and Franco are both twisted but I love the chemistry between Michelle Stafford and Roger Howarth. Much like the Britt/Brad and Sabrina/Felix friendships, this one (albeit twisted) makes me take notice.

1. Maxie and Nathan’s kiss

I loved Maxie and Spinelli to the point that I couldn’t picture her with anyone else then Nathan came along and proved to be sweet, gentlemanly, heroic and romantic. I am hooked on this couple!

3. Sonny and Carly’s “romance” and any mention of it

I love Laura Wright and Maurice Benard and like their version of Carly and Sonny as friends, not lovers. Ever since the Carly/Sonny sex in the limo as Michael lay in a coma in a clinic off-screen, I just haven’t been able to buy Sonny and Carly as a couple. They are destructive when they become romantically entangled. Lives are ruined. It is an abusive cycle with them. No. No. No.

2. Voiceless Jason

Keep in mind, I love Billy Miller, am excited to see him in Port Charles, and a headless Jason I could buy. But I wanted to hear a raspy Billy Miller gasping to find the words. That could have been explained by the intubation. Seeing the flailing hands of, as you so succinctly phrased it, “headless” Jason made me laugh and immediately think of Sleepy Hollow. Now, we suspect why Jason is headless, of course. A car crash will distort his features and there will be plastic surgery involved. And, if my hopes come true, Billy Miller’s Jason will awaken from this crash the complete reversal of Jason Morgan (in other words, he will be Jason Quartermaine). Yep, a reversal of the previous transformation of Jason will leave him traumatized once he realizes all the loves he took as “Stone Cold” and all the damage he inflicted. That’s my wish and I’m sticking to it. Lol.

1. ABC News pre-empting GH on Friday in Houston for the NFL presser

My city, Houston, is one of those whose GH time slot was moved to 3pm ET/2pm CT and Friday’s GH was pre-empted by ABC News due to the NFL Commissioner’s press conference. ABC News: the GH audience is an informed audience and those who wanted to watch the NFL presser live would have tuned into ESPN or one of the 24 hour news networks. To interrupt GH for something neither of national or local security was an epic fail especially since GH was seen in its entirety in the other cities where it is still aired at 2pm ET/1pm CT. To add insult to injury, I can’t watch the episode on ABC.com for a full week because I have Dish network as my provider. Again, it was an epic fail.

So there you have it. Our take on GH this week. What do you think? Did the Romance chicks get it right, or do you beg to differ. We love a good debate so feel free to comment!
