Work With Me

Your business has learned a lot.

Your marketing should have too.

The real problem

Your marketing shouldn’t still take this much work.

You’ve changed things. Hired people. Rewritten things. Followed advice that made perfectly good sense. And yet some version of the same problems keeps showing up.

The website says one thing. You explain it better on a sales call. The business has moved on, but the marketing still introduces an older version. You hire help, and somehow you’re still the one who has to explain what the business means before anyone can market it.

And whenever something feels off, there’s no shortage of possible things to fix.

The website. The positioning. The content. The offer. The funnel. The niche. Whatever the algorithm has decided to be upset about this week.

The problem isn’t that you’ve run out of marketing things to do.

It’s that your marketing should know more by now.

A business like yours has accumulated years of experience, client insight, sales conversations, decisions, proof and hard-won opinions. That intelligence exists. But sometimes it’s scattered across people, pages, tools and old decisions. Sometimes it reflects the business you were instead of the one you’ve become. And sometimes the only place the whole thing still makes sense is inside your head.

That’s the work I help with.

Diagnosis before prescription

First, we figure out what’s actually going on.

Before we rewrite the website, change the positioning and somehow reconsider the font while we’re there, I want to know where the story actually breaks. A content problem can begin three decisions earlier. A lead problem can be a misunderstanding problem. A website can be perfectly competent at selling a version of the business you no longer want to lead with.

That’s why there are a few different ways to work with me. Not because one is “more marketing” than another, but because they solve different versions of the problem.

What we look for

The visible problem isn’t always the real one.

Jeannie Ruesch

Marketing strategist · Novelist

Hi, I’m Jeannie

I read brands like novels.

I’ve spent 25+ years working across brand, positioning, websites, content, offers, demand, funnels and the systems underneath them. I’m also a published novelist, and it turns out those two things use a surprisingly similar part of my brain.

A novel can have beautifully written sentences and still have a broken story. A brand can, too. I’m looking for the throughline. The old chapter still hanging around. The point of view that comes roaring out on a sales call, then goes strangely well-behaved the second someone opens a Google Doc. The place where everything is technically true and the wrong story is still winning.

Same eye. Different words.

I’m not looking for an excuse to sell you the one thing I happen to do. I’m looking for what the business is trying to say, where the marketing loses it, and what has to change so you stop rebuilding the same understanding from scratch.

How we work together

Here’s how I help.

From one focused call to the deep work. Start where you are.

The Storyworld Method

Foundations

8–12 Weeks

Choose this when

The problem is deeper than one page or campaign.

We find the throughline in the business you’ve actually built and turn it into the strategic world your marketing works from: story, positioning, messaging, and the decisions that shouldn’t be remade for every new page.

This is your Brand World.

Marketing Systems

10–12 Weeks

Choose this when

The story exists, but you’re still carrying it yourself.

We take the Brand World and turn it into usable infrastructure, workflows, reusable context, AI-supported systems and feedback loops, so the business stops forgetting what it already knows.

The cure for Marketing Amnesia.

Strategy Call

One Hour

Choose this when

You already know what you’re trying to figure out.

One decision you keep circling, or a pile of connected questions you’d rather sort out with another brain in the room. We’ll spend an hour on what’s happening, what matters and what to do next.

The door in

No idea which one? Start with a Brand Read.

Let me see the business the way a stranger does, then show you what actually deserves your attention, no giant briefing required.

What happens when we find the right problem

“I get it now.”

Dr. Kweli Carson · Anti-Burnout Coach

That’s pretty much the goal. Not another 47-item marketing plan. Not six months of things you’re apparently now supposed to be doing on LinkedIn. You should leave our work understanding what’s happening, why it matters, what deserves your attention, what doesn’t, and how to stop solving the same problem again in a different outfit.

Who this is for

You have something worth protecting…and growing.

I do my best work with established, owner-led expert businesses. You have expertise, clients, history, proof and work that gets results. The business is real. The value is real.

The goal

Give your marketing a way to remember what the business knows.

Your marketing just isn’t making enough of it visible, coherent or reusable.

You may be a consultant, strategist, advisor, fractional leader, coach, author, speaker or specialist service business. The label matters less than what’s already happened: you’ve built enough business that starting over every time is now ridiculous. I’m not here to bulldoze everything because a framework says we should. Some things are working. Some are simply old. Some make sense individually and fail as a whole. The work is to figure out which is which.

Keep what still works.

Fix what actually matters.

Workshops

Smarter marketing for people who don’t secretly want to become marketers.

I teach workshops for communities, memberships, masterminds, author groups, founder groups and teams. The goal is not to send everyone home with another 83 marketing tasks they’re now behind on. We look at the decisions underneath the tactics: why marketing gets scattered, why businesses keep fixing symptoms, and why more tools don’t create smarter marketing. I teach the same way I work with clients: make it make sense first. Apparently, we also have fun.

What people say

“This is the only presentation that makes this fun.”

“OMG, I get it now.”

“This is game changing content creation advice.”

“This has been more helpful than anything else I’ve read/watched on the subject.”

A few things you might be wondering

The questions you’d email me at 11pm.

What if I already know I need something specific, like positioning, messaging, a website or content strategy?

Great. We don’t need to invent a mystery so I can diagnose one. If the problem is clear and contained, a Strategy Call may be enough. If the problem keeps appearing across multiple things, we may need to look further upstream. You don’t have to go through every offer in order.

What’s the difference between Foundations and Marketing Systems?

Foundations answers: what should the marketing know? We build the Brand World, the story, positioning, messaging, point of view and strategic context the marketing works from. Marketing Systems answers: how does the marketing keep using what we know without rebuilding the context every time? We turn that intelligence into workflows, reusable systems, AI context, measurement and feedback. Story first. Then the system around it.

What if I have absolutely no idea what I need?

I made you an entire offer for this. Start with a Brand Read. You don’t have to tell me what’s wrong. In fact, the point is to let me see what’s already there before you explain what I’m supposed to see. That tells us what a stranger can actually find.

Do you do the marketing for me?

I’m a strategist, not your outsourced marketing department. Depending on the work, I may help you build strategy, messaging, frameworks, assets and systems. But the goal is not to make your marketing dependent on me. It’s to make the business’s marketing intelligence easier for you, your team and the people helping you to use.

Can you work with my existing team, freelancer or agency?

Absolutely. Sometimes the most useful thing I can do is give the people already doing the work a clearer story, stronger decisions and shared context they can actually use. A good strategist should make the rest of the marketing team smarter, not replace everybody in the room.

Do I have to start with a Brand Read?

Nope. These are doors, not levels you have to unlock. If you know what you need, go straight to the offer that fits. If you don’t, the Brand Read is a very good place to start.

Your business has already learned things. Your marketing shouldn’t have to keep starting over.

You don’t have to fix everything. You don’t have to become an expert marketer. And you don’t have to know exactly what’s wrong before you get here. We find the break, build the story the marketing needs to know, then make that intelligence easier to use again and again.
