I love quizzes. I am a perpetual Facebook quiz taker. Who was I in a past life? What type of dog am I? What state should I live in? Who is my perfect TV husband? (McDreamy, no matter what that quiz said..) If there’s a quiz, I’ll take it.  So finding a great tool to help me create them for my brand and my work…well, that’s when work becomes just sheer fun. 😃

I discovered Interact because they reached out to me — and I’m thrilled to partner with them and share my findings as I discover their product, how it works and give you ideas on how you can use quizzes in your brand storytelling. Quizzes are a fantastic awareness tool, and one I highly recommend you employ as part of your strategy. But that’s for another day.

Today, this post is to show you just how quickly you can build a quiz and start using it in your marketing through Interact. (They also have polls… that post is coming soon.)

Let’s Check Out Interact

Once I log into my account, I’m taken right to their main page.

When you first log in, you’re taken right to Interact’s main page for creating Quizzes. I also notice that giveaways and polls are an option – great!

I love that there are pre-made quizzes – for a variety of reasons. One, it means you can get a basic quiz up on your site with relative ease. It also means you can check out examples of how the quizzes are built to help you define your own.

To get started on how this works, I’m going to take one of their pre-made quizzes. I’m a reader, so this is right up my alley:

You can click on the preview to run through the quiz:

So I click on “Take Quiz” :

The screens are easy – images and fonts set a tone, so I like that I’ll get to customize that. Getting through the ten pages is pretty fast and then I’m given my results:

Awesome. This looks like the quizzes I’ve taken, and I’m excited to dig in and see what I can do. I’m going to try building one for my amazing, smart, incredible marketing savvy audience. (I’m not sucking up, I promise)…

First up, they ask:

I’ll go with a template, please. I want to see if I can get this done and on my site quickly.

There are a ton of categories to choose from:

I scrolled down and click on “Marketing”.

Now a quick note: At the bottom of the page is the “Go to Next Step: Select Quiz Type” button — you have to advance the screen forward. In this touch screen world we live in, we often expect a click to equal movement. Here, you need to actively push this forward.

Next question:

I’m going with personality quiz, so now I have options:

I’m going with this quiz: What is your Brand Voice Style?

Click to use that template – you can take a preview of the quiz or just get right into it. I took the preview and got my result, so now I’m going to see what changes I can make quickly so it matches my branding to get this up and running.

Here is the main screen:

I want to edit the images to match more of what I use on my site (and yes, it is not a coincidence that they all have coffee in them…) which is really easy to do:

And one thing I love, love, love: it has a connection to Pixabay for easy image finding. Pixabay offers commercial free images (which you’ll find all over my site) and they’ve built this right into the tool.

I click the “Start over” button :

Yep, I’m sure.

Now I can search through Pixabay for photos:

I search through images and settle on one I like. It’s easy to drop it in and voila, I have a new image leader:

Now I can easily click on each Result and change the images there, as well:

Once I change all of this images, I’m going to save it. Then it appears on my dashboard so I can easily get back in at any time:

Now, I can go in and change questions easily if I want. I’m going to leave these pretty much alone for now, since I want to see about using one of their existing quizzes before writing my own.

But you can customize quite a bit. Click on edit, and this screen pops up:

This is pretty overwhelming, but it shows just how much detail you can create. My first thing will be to adjust the questions and results to my liking, so I’ll click there.

If you want to edit the Questions & Results, it will go directly to that segment within the app. Everything is up for grabs – from questions and their tallies to the results and descriptions.

For now, I just want to customize how this looks to match my site. So clicking on “STYLES”, I have the options available.

They offer a wide variety of fonts, including Google fonts:

You can also add a logo:

The logo shows pretty small in the corner, so be advised of that. The size limit is 250 x 150. If you have a rectangle or vertical logo, you might need to make some adjustments.

Once you’ve got it set up, definitely preview to see if you like how it looks. When I did, I realize I put the wrong color in somewhere:

Oops. Easy fix, though. Back to the STYLES to update that setting, and then it’s all good to go.

There is so much more you can do with this quiz program, including add in opt-in forms and integrate with your email marketing programs – the power of these as lead generators is huge (and it will connect with your email marketing program or through Zapier, to any number of tech tools). And the lead gen can be an option, so you have the ability to create quizzes for soft awareness and build more important ones for lead gens. The amount of options and flexibility is terrific here.

I’m going to dive into that element in another post, but for now, I was able to get a fun quiz on my site in a relatively short amount of time with a ton of personal flexibility in how it looks.

Once you hit publish, there is a bunch of options available:

Because I have WordPress and I installed the plugin, they give some basic instructions on how to get this quiz onto a page or sidebar.

Now I have a fun quiz on my website in the sidebar. All in all, this was pretty quick and easy. in less than 30 minutes, I have a functioning, fun, related topic quiz on my site and the ability to do so much more.

Want to try Interact out your own? And yes, that’s an affiliate link — I only partner with products I’m willing to put my name behind. They have to be easy to use, valuable and worth your money. I’ve tried a number of quiz products and so far, Interact tops them all. Try it out: you’ll have fun doing it.
