About the Book
What I love about the Cover
I saw this book while perusing the “shelves” on Amazon. I’m a sucker for blue, so that is probably what drew me in.
But what I noticed first was the empty bench and the image of the person blurred at the top left. The loneliness of the bench, the sense of someone disappearing off the cover… when matched with the title, “Who We Were Before”, it gives you an idea of what you might find inside the story.
The other element of the cover that catches my eye is how much of the real estate of the cover is focused on the reflection in the shimmery street. You get the feeling that this story has a strong focus on the past, on things remembered.
Since my Cover Love posts are based solely on the covers and not reading the book, I can’t tell you for sure if what I see on the cover matches what the story is about. From the description, I see all the elements I would expect from the cover. Every good cover tells a story about your book… this story makes me want to read more.
About the Book
Romantic Novel Award Nominee
Zoe knows that it wasnβt really her fault. Of course it wasnβt. But if sheβd just grasped harder, run faster, lunged quicker, she might have saved him. And Edward doesnβt really blame her, though his bitter words at the time still haunt her, and he can no more take them back than she can halt the car that killed their son.
Two years on, every day is a tragedy. Edward knows they should take healing steps together, but heβs tired of being shut out. For Zoe, it just seems easier to let grief lead the way.
A weekend in Paris might be their last hope for reconciliation, but mischance sees them separated before theyβve even left Gare du Nord. Lost and alone, Edward and Zoe must try to find their way back to each otherβand find their way back to the people they wereΒ before. But is that even possible?
