On Strike From My Computer

by Jeannie Ruesch 25 November 2006 No Comment

Over this past Thanksgiving holiday, I decided to go on strike from my computer.  Not because it, technically, had done anything to me but more because every time I opened my eyes lately, all I could see was a jumble of html, images and unwritten paragraphs written.

Not to mention this blog, now newly created, sat here and called…Hello? What did you create me for if you aren't going to write in me?

So instead of calling it good old fashioned procrastination, I instead renamed it "On Strike." Sounds much more… focused, doesn't it?  As if I had a purpose other than simply avoiding all the things I knew I needed to do once I sat down at my computer.  A positive spin on my essentially lazy behavior.  However, here I am… one blog post later. (For all it was worth.)  And a few web pages created.  So I suppose I've accomplished something for today, and my strike is over.  Until tonight, that is, when I decide I'd much rather watch a movie with my husband than do any work.
