The Librarians : New TV premiere on TNT

by Jeannie Ruesch

The , the tv show, comes to this weekend β€” the movie aired on the CW already so I watched the first two episodes of the new show.Β  First thoughts: I can’t wait for the next episode.Β  I was a big fan of the Librarian movies with (and okay, yes, a big fan of his since his ER days.)Β  But after watching the two hour premiere, I’m HOOKED.Β  Since I don’t get TNT, I’ll be watching with my season pass on Amazon Instant Video.

To give you the quick set up, Flynn was brought to safeguard the library that holds our history’s greatest magic, hidden under the Metropolitan Public Library.Β Β  The previous movies about about his adventures in saving the world, as he says in this new tv series, “Every week and twice before Friday.”Β Β  if you haven’t seen it, here’s the trailer for the show β€”a perfect example of what to expect from this show:

The new characters they’ve introduced are really intriguing. Former Angel/Buffy fans will recognize the handsome man, Christian Kane, as Lindsay from Angel. He plays a rugged cowboy with a crazy high IQ who has spent his life hiding his intelligence,Β  a thief with fab hacking skills, and a young woman who experiences her knowledge with all five senses.Β  When she does math, it’s a sight to behold.Β  And Rebecca Romjin is the “guardian”, the badass counter-terrorism expert who is charged with keeping everyone safe.Β  If you watched any of the Librarian movies, you already adore Noah Wyle’s Flynn Carsen β€”and his personality is on full display.Β  It’s great to see how quirky and confident he’s become since that first movie.

These first two episodes set the perfect stage for the show ahead with the perfect amount of humor, fun, magic and action.Β  There were quite a few moments I laughed out loud.Β Β  It’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed a show filled with magic and fun, in the same spirit of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Charmed, with a definite Indiana Jones vibe, and I think this show might fit the bill perfectly.Β  So… are you watching with me?
