How Shows Would Have Ranked in 1994

by Jeannie Ruesch

Vulture has a really interesting article on their site about how today’s shows would have ranked, ratings wise in .  And this line, in particular, was definitely timely:

In 1994, most of what was good about TV — most of what we loved — could be found on channels that didn’t require a $100-plus cable bill or an Internet connection.

So very true.   And this definitely does seem like an amazing year in TV entertainment…

The graphic of stats is fascinating:

I guess this reinforces that there is no one show that is seen by a true majority of households…. at least all at the same scheduled time. As so many shows these days are being DVR’d or watched on You tube or online streaming, I feel it is impossible to determine exactly how many people totally saw these shows.

Very interesting. Now I’m beginning to get an inkling of what’s been going on with A&E cutting the very popular Longmire show…a wonderful show. Dirty rats!!
