✩ TV Round-Up ✩ Mrs. Miracle Hallmark Movies

by Jeannie Ruesch

TV and movies can be a big time stealer but they can also provide inspiration, emotion, connection and so much more (and sometimes, just a great way to shut the brain off).    I have different shows that I check into So here’s this week’s check in:

I am a big sucker for Hallmark movies, especially at Christmastime.  I routinely check the Hallmark and Lifetime channels through the week for anything I might want to record and watch later.   These past few weeks I found two movies that looked really cute and I finally got to watch them this week.  The bonus? My son could watch with me.

These might not be new to you, but they are really sweet, heartwarming movies based on books by Debbie Macomber.  I first found Mrs. Miracle because of the actress Erin Karpluk.  I was a big fan of Being Erica and missed seeing her on my screen.  But then I found I really enjoyed both movies.  They were heartwarming,  romantic and with enough fun and magic that my seven year old would snuggle into the couch with me and watch.  And then ask to watch them again later.

Finding shows to watch with my son can be tough, though I do enjoy Dog with a Blog. But it’s nice to know that we’re entering the stage where he can watch movies together.  And for me, snuggling up watching holiday movies is one of the best parts of the holiday season.

Have you watched these? Any other Hallmark movies you’d recommend?

Good evening, Ms. Ruesch,

You could consider me a “Hallmark Girl” as much as a “Christmas Lifetime Girl” as I have long since decided that I can ‘handle’ Lifetime if its around the holidays!! Ooh, my dear stars — if you haven’t seen “Daniel’s Daughter” starring Sebastian Spence, you must! “The Christmas Card” about a soldier who doesn’t realise he is in need of family is a classic in my family for Christmas viewing (right up there with “It’s A Wonderful Life”, “White Christmas”, & “The Bishop’s Wife”!) “The Nanny Express” starring Brennan Elliott is not to miss either! I could literally write you a LIST of Hallmark movies that I adore, heart, and love to re-watch on a yearly basis! Actresses like Teri Polo, I truly never MISS a new release for, nor do I tire of seeking out their previous ones! Did you ever see “The Long Shot” which celebrates Dressage and second chances!? “The Last Cowboy” where a photographer gains more than courage in her art?

I could continue, trust me!

IF your keen, threaded throughout my tweets are my ‘new’ Hallmark & Lifetime finds this year! Including my newly beloved “Twelve Trees of Christmas”! I would not be a proper librarygirl if I hadn’t seen it during the midnight premeire!! Laughs. I tweeted Ms. Kellie Martin & Ms. Candace Cameron Bure during both of their premeires! 🙂 “The Christmas Ornament” with Martin evoked serious emotions which she honoured in how she approached the role.

I am also a big fan of the “Love Comes Softly” series & “The Note” series. I wanted to watch “Cedar Cove” as I have been an appreciator of Debbie Macomber since I was a freshman in high school – 20 years ago! 🙂 Except to say, I *missed!* and am awaiting the dvd to release which I hope to watch through my local library! 🙂

Let me know if you want to carry-on this conversation!
I heart uplifting movies which is why I favour Hallmark Channel & TCM! 🙂

I also wanted to watch “Cedar Cove” but missed the beginning, so I’m waiting on the DVD version as well. And yup – I love The Note series, too — Genie Francis right? I’m a huge fan of hers — both from General Hospital and from the North and South series based on John Jakes books.

I think one of my favorite Hallmark/Lifetime movies this year has been Christmas in Conway. Did you see that? I love Mandy Moore, and it was a great movie.

The ones you listed sound great! I’ll definitely look for those. I’m always on the look-out for more to watch. 🙂 I have both the movies from Kellie Martin and Candace Bure on my DVR to watch — they look really good.
