I’m a Big, Fat Covetor (Is that a word?) …the auction begins!

by Jeannie Ruesch

Maggie Van Well is under the weather today (likely story….I think she's too busy scouring Brenda Novak's Online Auction for those $1 Buy it Now items) so I'm here to post in her place.

And I have to admit — I'm coveting a looooooot of items in Brenda Novak's Online Auction this month.  I swear, I feel like a kid in a candy store!

And since I'm having so much fun scouring Brenda's auction, I thought I'd list some of MY favorite auction items…and if I had an unlimited bank account, they'd ALL be mine! πŸ™‚

AMAZON KINDLE + Wild Rose Press Gift certificate donated by Wild Rose Press Authors

Even though I helped contribute to this, I still covet this! And if one isn't enough for you, there are TWO more Amazon Kindles to bid on!

AMAZON KINDLE + Kindle Store Gift Certificate donated by MamaWriters.com

AMAZON KINDLE + $100 Gift Certificate to Amazon donated by K.M. Daughters

The writer in me covets…

A 100 Page Triple Pass Deep Editing and Lunch with Margie Lawson

If you've ever attended one of her workshops, this would be a DREAM — one on one attention and time with Margie.

Lunch with Kate Duffy, Kensington Books Editor

I've met Ms. Duffy, she's got a terrific sense of humor, she's smart and lunch with her would be tons of fun.

Lunch with Borders/Waldenbooks seller Sue Grimshaw
I would LOVE to get to know Sue Grimshaw, the NATIONAL book buyer for Borders/Waldenbooks.  Here's an opportunity to sit down, get to know her.

One week of advertising in AuthorBuzz
Huge outreach, great program. I'd love to get this!

Guest Blog at Romance B(u)y The Book with Michelle Buonfiglio

She has such a tremendous following, with terrific guests on her blog. I'd love to be a part of this!

Trips

Olde English Charm: Trip for Two
A Trip for Two to London, England for Seven Days & Six Nights at the Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill with Economy Class Air

Marriott Vacation Villa — You Choose!
A Family Trip for Four to an Exclusive Marriott Vacation Villa for Six Days & Five Nights in the Continental United States with Economy Class Air — You choose from their extensive list of vacation spots.

And the RAFFLE item!  This is a fabulous option for someone on a budget.  You pay for the raffle tickets and you have a chance to win.

The Writer's Raffle is AMAZING:

  • An EEE 7" laptop computer
  • a critique from NY Times bestselling author Brenda Novak
  • The Evaluation of a Fiction Proposal by Agent Jennifer Jackson at the Donald Maass Literary Agency
  • An evaluation from Kensington Editor Kate Duffy
  • The fee for the RWA national conference (or other conference of winner's choice up to the same price)

Just for the cost of a raffle ticket, ANYONE could win that!!

Okay, so now that I've tipped my hand on the items I'm watching most, what about you?? What are you hoping to win?  Share in the comments!

Oh, dear lord! My watch list is too long to enumerate here! Has anyone found that $1 for today? I’ve been looking in-between errands, house stuffs and catching up on other paperwork. (And checking the Wild Rose Press birthday party at http://behindthegardengate.blogspot.com/ . So much to see and buy! *checks bank account*

Jeannie,

Thanks so much for stepping up to the plate for me. Your proxy post couldn’t be more meaningful for me since hubby is diabetic. This auction means a lot to me personally.

Thanks again! You’re a gem πŸ™‚

Jeannie, I’d love every one of the things you covet. πŸ™‚ Are you bidding on any of them? I’m positive I couldn’t afford any of them, but I did donate a collection of my books to the auction. I’ll have to go browse over the next couple weeks.

I’m with all of you — my bank account groans whenever May rolls around. LOL

I’ve also thrown a copy of SOMETHING ABOUT HER up for auction, along with a Jane Austen Companion CD of great music.
